| MG TOUCH MAP UPDATE GUIDE for MG6/MG5/MG GS DEVICES    a USB flash drive (recommended size at least 8GB) broadband internet connection one of the supported operating systems, installed on your computer: Windows 7 or later, OS X 10.10 or later   You can update the map in your navigation system with the help of the Naviextras Toolbox. It is a free-of-charge application that allows you to purchase, download, and install map updates on your navigation. To do this, you will need: SYNCRONIZE THE USB DRIVE WITH THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM    1. Insert a blank USB flash drive into MG Navigation and turn on the head unit. Make sure that no other USB flash drive has been connected. A status screen is displayed showing the progress.   2. Go to Settings/System and by the Update Navigation field tap Start. The system asks you to confirm that you want to prepare the storage media for an update. This will synchronize the system’s navigation data with the USB flash drive.   WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE USB FLASH DRIVE AND DO NOT SWITCH OFF YOUR NAVIGATION SYSTEM DURING THE PROCESS. 3. Wait until MG Navigation prompts you to remove the USB flash drive. Now you can disconnect the USB flash drive from your MG System.   DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING NAVIEXTRAS TOOLBOX Visit https://mgtouch.naviextras.com, create your profile, select your device and download the Naviextras Toolbox. After installation, start it, set up your language and follow the instructions on the screen and once the installation is complete, click Finish. Insert to your PC/laptop the USB flash drive which contains the saved data of your MG Navigation. Naviextras Toolbox will automatically recognize the navigation data. Naviextras Toolbox requires you to log in to your Naviextras account to purchase new content or update your existing maps. Enter your credentials. BUY CONTENT    After successfully connecting your device and logging in, you can start browsing maps and other extras in Naviextras Toolbox. Click on the “Shop” button in the menu bar on the left hand side. Available updates and extras can be filtered by geographic region or content type (map, 3D landmarks, etc.) on the right hand side. After filtering contents and regions there, you will see the list of compatible updates in the middle. The price is displayed next to the name of the package. If an update is available for you free of charge, this is also displayed here. (Please note that free updates provided by the device manufacturer are not shown in the “Shop”. You can view additional details about the updates by clicking “Read more”.   You can purchase items in Naviextras Toolbox by following the steps below. 1. Add selected content to cart. 2. Check out. Verify items in your cart. 3. Enter and confirm your invoice address. 4. Enter your credit card data for the purchase. 5. Download and install updates to your device with Naviextras Toolbox. DOWNLOADING AVAILABLE UPDATES THROUGH NAVIEXTRAS TOOLBOX The available updates that you have not yet installed on your device can be found in the Device menu in Naviextras Toolbox. You can reach this menu by clicking ‘Device’ on the menu bar on the left side of the window. If you have any available updates, they are displayed in a list. You can see the following types of contents here: Items that you have purchased but not yet installed Free updates and extras that you added to the installation queue Special free updates that are normally paid updates, but have been provided by your manufacturer or the site operator free of charge.   For a simple installation, follow the steps below: By default, all items belonging to all regions are selected for installation. Review the table and uncheck the checkbox in front of the item that you do not want to install. SCREEN Click Install at the bottom of the screen to start the installation process. After clicking on Install, you are prompted to make a backup. NOTE: We strongly recommend to proceed with a backup before downloading and installing updates. You may decide to skip backup at your own risk. After creating a backup, Naviextras Toolbox starts downloading and installing the selected updates. A double status bar shows the progress: the one on top shows the total ratio of the job already done, and the one at the bottom shows progress with the current file. Wait until you receive a message that the operation is completed. TRANSFERRING DOWNLOADED CONTENT TO THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM After downloading the updates to your USB flash drive, you can transfer them to MG Navigation System. To do this, follow the steps below: NOTE: During the transfer process, do NOT switch off the vehicles ignition, otherwise you may need to start the process again. 1. Insert your USB flash drive containing the updates into its slot on the navigation device. 2. Go to Settings/System and by the Update Navigation field tap Start   SCREEN 3. The system asks you to confirm that you want to update the map contents of the navigation system. Tap Yes. 4. The MG Navigation System notifies you when the update process is complete.NOTE: The system may reboot several times during the update process. 5. Exit Synctool and remove the USB flash drive. MG Navigation System now uses the new content. SCREEN |
